Hamilton High School senior Shelby Bushnell and Bridgeport Elementary second grader Logan Pickett received the city of Hamilton’s Youth Service Volunteer Award.

Shelby is the president of HHS’s ASTRA service organization and volunteers in the  summer program at North End.   She has also volunteered at Operation pumpkin, Icefest, Salvation Angel Tree, German Village Christmas Walk and Lil Joes in Hamilton.  Logan raised money for the American Red Cross to create toiletry boxes to help families after the tornadoes hit Kentucky.  He also led a blanket drive for the Hurricane Sandy victims.


Congratulations also to Rosa Smiley and Alison Hasse from the Hamilton Freshman school who were also nominated for this award.  Community Service is alive and well in Hamilton!
