The 37th Annual Dole-Burkhardt Spelling Bee at Linden Elementary showcased Hamilton’s best spellers.  Students from the Hamilton City Schools as well as St. Peter in Chains, St. Ann’s, St. Joseph, Immanuel Lutheran and Richard Allen Academy participated in the event.  The night included stiff competition as participants battled through sixteen rounds of words.

In the end, three champions were left standing for the $200, $150 and $100 dollar prizes awarded by the Kiwanis Club of Lindenwald.  During the presentation ceremony, Dave Schul and David Smith handed out the checks to the champion, Ryan Kirkendall of St. Peter in Chains, the second place finisher, Emily Theobald of Bridgeport and the third place finisher, Matthew Swann of Crawford Woods.

A special thanks to the Kiwanis of Lindenwald and the wonderful students and staff of Linden for hosting such a great event.
