Congratulations to Hamilton High School’s NJROTC unit who won first place in the Area 3 East Athletic, Academic and Drill Championships held at Central Crossing High School on Friday and Saturday. Competing against the best 15 NJROTC schools in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and West Virginia, Hamilton earned 4868.13 out of a possible 5000 points. Hamilton took first place in the Unit Personnel Inspection; Second place finishes in Academics, Athletics and UnArmed Basic Drill; A third place finish in Armed Basic Drill and a fourth place finish in UnArmed Exhibition Drill.

Individually, Hamilton had five females and four males place in the top ten 10 in sit ups and three females and five males place in the top 10 in push ups. Junior, Kenny Wombles, came in first overall in male pushups. Senior, Jordan Reed, came in first overall in academics.

This Championship has earned Hamilton the right to compete at the NJROTC Academic, Athletic and Drill Championships in Pensacola, FL (9-11 April). Although, they have qualified twice before to compete in the NJROTC National Championships, this is the first time HHS has won the Area Three East Championships, outright.
