Bridgeport Elementary School’s Blue Bishops Chess Club is off to a great start in their inaugural year as 20 students participated in the chess club this year. Many students came to Chess Club having never played before, while some had a basic understanding of the game.
Competition was fierce, kings fought for their lives, and armies conquered. Students learned to manage a multi-source flow of information, to take that information and sift out the most critical pieces, and to use a decision tree to make decisions based on that information. Students also learned a code of behavior that will serve them well in all areas of life. On top of that, THEY HAD FUN!
