GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Lisa Privette Vinnedge, HHS Class of 1998, graduated from Miami University in 2002. She majored in Microbiology and Classical Humanities, with a minor in Molecular Biology. She received both her Masters Degree and her Ph.D in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan.
During her research fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, she also worked as a part-time instructor at Miami University for the Biology and Microbiology department from 2009-2014.
She is the Assistant Professor in the Division of Oncology and the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She leads a research team that studies the molecular processes that drive breast cancer development and how the disease worsens over time. They also perform early testing of new cancer therapies. She has received numerous grants to support her research and has published 11 papers describing her work.
