HHS Band Finishes a Successful Marching Season

The Hamilton High Big Blue Marching Band finished their 2016 marching competition at the OMEA State Competition on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at UD’s Welcome Stadium, marking the group’s 4th consecutive appearance at the prestigious contest. The band received an “Excellent” rating on their competition show, “Water’s Edge”.

During the season, the band participated in 5 competitions. HHS band hosted Band-O-Rama, an OMEA sanctioned contest in September.  The Big Blue Marching Band performed at all home football games, and provided spirit music at the away games.  They will soon be headed to Hawaii where they will  perform in the Waikiki Holiday Parade.  This parade will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor.

The band is under the direction of Mr. Paul Dixon, with assistant directors Mr. Patrick Naylor, Ms. Rachel Harney, Mr. Jacob Gibson, Mr. Bob Saurber, and Ms. Lindsay Merz. The Color Guard directors  are Ms. Maria DeSantiago, Ms. Olivia Small, and Mr. Richard Hansen.

Senior band members completing their final marching season are: Zamariah Ardis, Rachel Ballinger, Haley Davis, Sydney Butler, Zane Farris, Shannon Goforth, Michaela Haddix, Kyle Holmes, Matthew McCracken, Tony Natiello, Daniel Stapleton, Tori Waltz, and Jasmin Zellner.
