Last week was a busy and successful week for the Hamilton City Schools Fine Arts Department with concerts, competitions, and art shows. Congratulations to Hamilton High’s show choir, Rhapsody in Blue for their 4th place finish at Fairfield’s Crystal Classic show choir competition. Rhapsody also received the award for Best Costumes, and the coveted People’s Choice award. The Hamilton High Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble finished in 3rd place at the Mid East Performance Association (MEPA) competition, just 0.2 point out of 2nd place. Our visual art department sent six pieces to the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition. Hamilton High Senior, Leo Rodriguez‘s piece “Expressions” was a winner.
Our Elementary Strings Concert featuring the Middle School Electric String Ensemble, String Fusion, was a great success with a very appreciative audience. TV Hamilton filmed the event which can be seen on cable TV and TV Hamilton’s YouTube channel soon. The Hamilton High/Hamilton Freshman Vocal Concert showcased the vocal abilities of over 200 singers, and saw the debut of the new concert attire for the HHS Concert Chorale.
