Fine Arts Update April 17, 2017

The Hamilton High Chamber Orchestra performed at the Fort Hamilton Volunteer Dinner on Thursday, April 13. Guests were treated to an assortment of music by composers, such as Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Pleyel, Schumann, and Mendelssohn as they arrived and throughout the dinner.  Student members of the group are Jaquelyn Betancourt, Nicole Black, Danielle Kettman, Ashley Lakes, and Alexander Treadway.

“Performing at events such as this  provides our students with performing opportunities in front of a variety of audiences. It is also a great opportunity for community outreach, allowing the community to appreciate the hard work of our Hamilton orchestra students.” says HHS Orchestra teacher, Matthew Pfeuffer.

The work of sixth grade artists at Highland Elementary is currently on display at the Board of Education building.  Art teacher, Emily Howard helped her students understand the concept of organic shapes through the study of artist,  Dale Chihuly, as well as in their own organic shape creations.
