HHS Golfer to play Professionals At Pebble Beach with The First Tee Program

Hamilton High School senior golfer, Trace Thomas, was selected as one of only 81 high school players in the country to play in the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach in California, an official PGA Tour Champions event. Trace will be matched up with a professional golfer in the tournament.  He is representing The First Tee of Greater Miami Valley.

The golfers are nominated by their Chapter and had to have a Golf Handicap of 6 or better.  The application consisted of five written essays, had a panel interview, and shared their school & community service and golf resume.

The PURE Insurance Championship will bring together junior golfers from The First Tee to play alongside PGA TOUR Champions players.  They compete for the pro-junior title at legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links and Poppy Hills Golf Course. The tournament is televised internationally on the Golf Channel Sept.19-24.

In 2015, Trace was also nominated and selected for The First Tee Life Skills & Leadership Academy that was held in July 2015, where he flew to Blaine, MN for a week.
