Cold Weather Decisions

Cold weather presents a challenge for us as we make decisions on having school or not.  Unfortunately, we do not delay school because so many of our bus routes overlap and many parents are unable to adjust their schedules.  Therefore, we have taken the stance to either remain opened or closed depending upon weather conditions.

As far as students walking to school or waiting at bus stops, we consider cold temperatures more than we do snow.  It must be -15 degrees or colder, which includes wind chill, before we close.   Additionally, because so many of our younger students have no one at home, oftentimes they are safer being at school where they will be warm and can eat breakfast and lunch.

We do ask that employers be flexible with our working parents who may opt to make other arrangements to ensure their children are in school.
