The Hamilton High School Marching Band received a “Superior” rating at the 42nd Annual Band-o-Rama held at Hamilton’s Virgil Schwarm Stadium on Saturday. This means they have qualified for OMEA State Marching Band Finals!
This was their first contest of the season. The band will travel north this coming weekend to the Bands Of America Bowling Green University Regional Championships.
Thirteen area bands competed for awards in their class. Bands also received a rating based upon Ohio Music Educators Association guidelines. Those earning a “Superior” rating qualified for OMEA State Contest, which takes place in late October and Early November. As host school, Hamilton was not eligible to win any awards other than qualification. Fairfield Marching Band was awarded Grand Champion of the evening and also qualified for the State Contest at this event.
