Fine Arts

The Hamilton City Schools believes in a well-rounded education for all students. This includes providing students with a comprehensive Fine Arts program. Students in Hamilton Elementary Schools receive 40 minutes of art instruction each week along with two thirty minute music classes each week. In the 5th grade students can choose between Band, Orchestra or General Music/Chorus classes. At the secondary schools students can continue in Band, Orchestra or Chorus. They also have the ability to take a variety of Art classes.

Hamilton also offers a number of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular musical opportunities for students. These include an Elementary Young Musicians Club for qualifying students in Band, Orchestra and Chorus. The Band program offers Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Indoor Drumline and Winterguard. The Orchestra program includes Concert Orchestras, as well as electric string ensembles – Live Wire! and String Fusion. The Choral program includes concert choirs as well as two show choirs – Cutting Edge and Rhapsody in Blue. Our High School Drama program presents 3 productions each year.

Elementary students in the Hamilton City Schools receive weekly Art instruction. Middle School students may take art as an elective in eighth grade. At the High School level, we offer Art I, Drawing and Painting, Ceramics, Metals, Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Art History and AP Art.
