Captain Jim Allison is a 1980 graduate of the United States Naval Academy.  His active duty shipboard assignments include the USS DONALD B. BEARY (FF-1085), as the Electrical Officer, Main Propulsion Assistant and Engineering Officer and on the USS HERMITAGE (LSD-34) as the Engineering Officer.  During his tour on the USS HERMITAGE (LSD-34) the ship was awarded the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy as the most improved ship in the Navy.  His active duty shore tour was with the Fleet Combat Direction System Support Activity, Dam Neck, VA, as a Systems Analyst for the Advanced Combat Direction Systems Program.

Biography of GySgt – Todd A McAlister

Born on July 14, 1963 in Muncie, Indiana, Gunnery Sergeant Todd A McAlister enlisted into the Marine Corps on January 27, 1983, Retiring from Active Duty Marine Corps on Feb 28, 2003. He graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA in April 1983 and completed Infantry Training School at Camp Pendleton, CA in June 1983. GySgt McAlister later lateral moved into the Automotive Mechanics field, graduating March 15, 1985 and remained in the Automotive Maintenance field for the remainder of his military career. Certified Instructor for both the Marine Corps and Navy.

During his career, he has served in the following assignments:

(1992-1994) Drill Instructor, Hotel Company, 2d Recruit Training Battalion, Parris Island, SC
(1994-1995) Mechanic, Support Battalion, Okinawa, Japan
(1995-1996) Motor Transport Inspector, CG, 2d Marine Air Wing, Cherry Point, NC
(1996-1998) Maintenance Chief, Marine Air Support Squadron 1, Cherry Point, NC
(1998-2003) Maintenance Chief, Inspector Instructor, Communications Company, 4th Marine Division, Cincinnati, OH
(2003-2005) Asst. Service manager, Truckway Leasing in Cincinnati.

Personal Decorations include: Navy Commendation Medal; Navy Achievement Medal 2 Awards); Good Conduct Medal (6 Awards); Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; and Drill Instructor Ribbon awarded for successful tour.

GySgt Todd McAlister (retired) is married to Pamela McAlister, residing in West Harrison, Indiana. They have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
