A great time was had by all learning dental hygiene with Ms. Stevenson's kindergarten class. We learned how to take care of our teeth and prevent cavities. We made tooth boxes for our teeth as we lose them. And last, but not least, we were given certificates and new toothbrushes for practicing what we learned!
An illusionist by the name of Steve Harney came to Riverview on Friday, September 25th. His performing group focused on character development and did a wonderful job of teaching the children about character through humor. Thank you again Steve Harvey!!! Ms. Hacker's first grade class has been working hard this week on contractions. We had quite a few "contraction surgeons"
On September 23rd, Superintendent Mr. Tony Orr came to read to Ms. Bretz's second grade class. He read Skippyjon Jones and it made the students' day! Mr. Orr's compassion for the students and staff of Hamilton City Schools is apparent and appreciated!

Mrs. Funston and Mrs. Kraemer's class watched a video on the events of September 11th and then shared thoughts and feelings about what it meant to be a hero.
Neveah Harris, Miranda Synder, and Mrs. Doerr celebrate Patriot's Day by remembering the heroes of 9-11. Students also took home a flag provided by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Branch Hill 5354.
On September 9th, students in grades 3-6 had the opportunity to experience COSI at Riverview. Thanks to Mrs. Christian, and the Harry Wilks Foundation, students were given the opportunity to explore science through hands-on activities to learn about density, properties of matter, and many other content standards.
