About the School Board

The Board of Education of the Hamilton City School District (the Board) is a five member body politic and corporate, as defined by Section 3313.02, Ohio Revised Code. The Board serves as the taxing authority, contracting body, policy maker, and ensures that all other general laws of the State of Ohio are followed in the expenditure of the District’s tax dollars, and approves the annual appropriation resolution and tax budget.

Meetings are held at the Board of Education Administration Building, 533 Dayton Street. Please call the Superintendent’s office at 868-4437 to confirm dates and times as they may change due to conflicts in dates.

The regular meetings of the Board of Education are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. The meetings shall be held in the Administration Building and Training Center, 533 Dayton Street, Hamilton, Ohio.

Meet the School Board

Janet Baker



The Superintendent is the chief executive officer of the district, responsible directly to the Board for all education and support operations. Mrs. Janet Baker was appointed as Superintendent on June 16, 1992. Mrs. Baker has been in the profession of education for over 35 years; 3 years as a teacher/librarian, and over 22 years as an administrator. Mrs. Baker has a BS and ME in Education and has taken additional post graduate work at Miami University.



Larry Bowling


Larry Bowling is a life-long resident of Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Garfield Senior High School in 1964 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indianapolis University. He owns and operates Bowling Financial Services. He is a member of First Baptist Church. He was named Hamilton’s Citizen of the Year 2006 and was inducted into the Hamilton City School District’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

He has been a member of the Board of Education since 1988 and has been President of the Board six times. He has been a Board representative for the district’s Master Plan for Facilities, working closely with the Ohio School Facilities Commission.

He is married to Marilyn and has two sons and three grandchildren.




Steve Isgro

Steve Isgro

Vice President

Steve was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio. He is a graduate of Miami University with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Studies.He is retired from the Hamilton Police Department, with the rank of Lieutenant, Commander of the Investigation Bureau. He also worked for the Butler County Sheriff’s Office as an Investigative Specialist assigned to the Child Support Enforcement Agency.

Steve is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College XXVII. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Transitional Living Inc. and has served as Treasurer, Vice President and President since 2004.

Steve is active in the Hamilton Welcomes the Holidays Committee as Santa Claus since 2010 and served as an Instructor and Academy Commander for the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy.

Steve is married to Judy Yeakle Isgro and has two children and two grandchildren.



Scott Kruger



Scott was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio and graduated Valedictorian of Hamilton High School in 1997. He was enrolled in the Honors Program at The Ohio State University where he graduated Cum Laude in 2001. Scott then graduated from Northern Kentucky University Chase Law School in 2005, before entering private practice. He is the chairperson for the Young Lawyers Committee of the Butler County Bar Association and a volunteer for Hand Me Down Dobes, Inc., a Doberman Pinscher Rescue group.



Glenn Stitsinger


Dr. Glenn Stitsinger is a life-long resident of Hamilton. He graduated from Hamilton High School, the Ohio State University, and its College of Dentistry. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served one tour in Vietnam.  He was in private practice in Hamilton for 36 years.

He has been a member of the Board of Education since 1986, including serving as President nine times.  As a board representative on the district’s facilities committee, he was instrumental in securing the funding, and also in design review and construction oversight during the building of 10 new schools and the complete renovation of two others.

Active in the community, he is a member and past president of Hamilton Rotary Club and current president of the TvHAMILTON board.  He is a past member and treasurer of the Partners in Prime, and a past member of the boards of Fort Hamilton Hospital, Westover, Colonial, city of Hamilton Parks and Recreation, and the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.  He is also past president of the Keely Dental Society and the Hamilton Jaycees.

His wife, Joelle, and daughter, Elizabeth, are career teachers, and his son Matt is Director of Development, Major Gifts for the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.



Rob Weigel

robwRob was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio and graduated from Hamilton High School in 2003. He then went on to graduate from Wright State University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. After graduation Rob began working for his father at Weigel Funeral Home where he became the fourth generation in his family to be licensed in funeral service.

Rob is embracing Hamilton’s revitalization by living downtown and being an active member of the community. He is currently a member of Hamilton Rotary Club and also serves on several boards including Partners in Prime and The Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Involvement in these organizations gives Rob a chance to give back to the community that he calls home.
