The Business and Planning Office oversees the business areas of the district. The primary goal is to organize, coordinate and maintain the business processes required for the efficient operation of the school district. Below are a few highlights from the Business and Planning Office.

Race to the Top

Hamilton City School District is a Race to The Top district. This is a four year federal grant. We received $ 1,995,869 to focus on three critical areas:

  • Standards and Assessments
  • Using Data to Improve Instruction
  • Great Teachers and Leaders

Our leadership team made up of administrators and teachers have developed a plan to re-write the academic curriculum maps to mirror the new state standards, developed a highly effective professional development plan and implemented a new evaluation system for staff.

State & Federal Grants

Business and Planning oversees all State and Federal Grants. The Title One grant provides funding for 35 highly qualified teachers to our eight elementaries for reading intervention.

Construction & Renovation

Business and Planning coordinates all construction and renovation projects. We have completed a $250 million construction project that produced eight new elementaries, renovated Garfield Middle School, built a new Wilson Middle School, built a new Freshman Building and renovated the High School. We have developed a five year facility road map to keep our buildings looking new for years to come.

Variety of Departments

Business and Planning oversees the Adult Basic Literacy Education, Transportation, Maintenance and Food Service Departments.

Contract Oversight

Business and Planning reviews and recommends all district contracts, oversees the insurance policy, maintains systems and procedures for purchasing, distributing and maintaining equipment and supplies.
