Welcome

As Superintendent of Hamilton City Schools, I wanted to share with you that this is a wonderful place for students to learn! In Hamilton we celebrate our diversity. It’s a learning environment where we have something for everyone. Our three objectives reflect our beliefs regarding the importance of student achievement, staff growth, and the connections we have with our community. We believe that students are unique, and we desire to maximize their potential growth as learners and as citizens.

To accomplish this, we rely on our outstanding staff. These professionals care about, encourage, and challenge students to excel inside and outside of the classroom. As a district, we understand the importance of supporting the growth of our teachers and staff. Providing them with high-quality professional development and the resources they need to teach is paramount to our success in helping to improve student performance.

Finally, our community is one undergoing a renaissance. The rebirth of our economy, the arts, and the city itself demonstrates what working together can accomplish. As a result, we believe communication with families in our community is crucial to helping grow our students as well. Parents, grandparents, guardians, other family members, and community members are encouraged to be involved with Hamilton City Schools. And regardless of which state of the art building they go to, it is the center of their community. Oftentimes we find our families and community members attending athletic events, musical performances by award winning groups like Live Wire or Rhapsody in Blue, or student-lead academic programs like the live wax museums.

Because of our focus on improved student academic performance, our dedicated staff, and our connection with our community, more than half of our graduates go on to attend college, join the military, or they begin a rewarding career. In fact, almost half of our Class of 2017 earned college scholarships, thirty-eight students graduating summa cum laude with a GPA of 3.9 or higher! We are also #HamiltonProud because we have shown significant improvement in the area of student performance on state standardized testing. Our students improved in 17 out of the 23 tests given in 2017!

Because of the quality of our schools and our teachers, and the ongoing renaissance in Hamilton, my family is proud to call Hamilton home. As always, it is my pleasure to serve as your superintendent.
